Mission Education
In today's world, mission education takes place in an environment of mutual learning with mission partners.
- Mission education is not mission work itself. It connects persons with God's mission and inspires them to participate.
- Mission education is a process of sharing God's mission in the world. It proclaims and communicates the Biblical mandate for mission and helps persons to understand the political, economic and social context of the world in which the church is called to serve.
- Mission education provides information about the programs and projects of the church in mission. It calls people to remember God's activities and to model these.
Through the people in local churches and local units of United Methodist Women, mission becomes alive in the world. There the first spark ignites, spreading its warmth into the whole United Methodist connection.
