Mission Partnership Grants 2005-2006
Through the end of 2006, twenty four "Encounter with Christ in Latin America" mission projects in fourteen countries and two regional bodies have received support in the amount of $150,000 from interest monies on the permanent fund, almost 1.5 million dollars.
Mission partnership grants to Methodist churches of the region during 2005-2006 include:
- Argentina: "Youth Mission Formation"- $10,000;
- Bolivia: "Youth Leaders Training for Mission and Social Justice"- $6,000 and "Training of Indigenous Leaders"- $7,000;
- Brazil: "Ministries with People of African Inheritance"- $7,000 and "Vocational Education"- $8,000;
- CIEMAL: "Leadership Development Program- $7,600;
- Colombia: "Community Group and Radio Workers Training in Conflict Zones"- $4,000 and "Dignifying Quality of Life-Indigenous and African Descendents Project, $7,502 ;
- Dominican Republic: "Technical/Vocational School Program"- $6,800 and "Growing with Christ"- $6, 500;
- Ecuador: "Dancing to Live"- $4,120;
- Guatemala: "Transformed to Transform Others"- $3,346;
- MCCA: "Reaching Others for Christ Through Vocational & Educational Training- $6,000, "Church School Curriculum Materials- $7,000
- Haiti: "Delmas 54 Boys Home"- $7,500;
- Mexico: "Arts and Crafts School"- $6, 200 and "Home for Indigenous Students- $9,619;
- Nicaragua: "Good Samaritan Medicine Program"- $3,000;
- Panama: "Development Preventive Health Program- $8, 500;
- Peru: "Education and Community Development for Children and Youth- $5,000;
- Uruguay: "Evangelization and Expansion in Artigas"- $4,500 and Methodist Institute of Pedagogical & Pastoral Studies"- $4,200; and
- Venezuela: "Community Primary Health"- $6,000.
