Basic Study Text

Abundant Living: Global Health and Christian Response-Ability by Sarla Chand, Esther Mabry and Dave Hilton.

Pic of Cover of the Book - 18179 Bytes    Three authors, each with long and unique histories in The United Methodist Church's work in health have collaborated to create this study that explores major health issues that affect people living in both the United States and around the world. This basic study text for the "Global Health and Christian Response-Ability" mission study poses important questions. What methods of health care are most likely to bring about healthy people in the U.S. and around the world? What has the church done and what should the church be doing to bring about health for all people? Participants in this study will gain new awareness of global and domestic health issues that affect all of us and generations to come.

The Leader's Guide by Becky S. Jones contains five sessions and gives suggestions for other time frames. Each session begins with worship and Bible study and includes class activities and suggestions for Christian response.
