In the fall of 2005 United Methodists began the Community-Based Malaria Control Program. This program works within community structures to combat malaria. The first program was launched at Kissy Hospital in Sierra Leone with others expected to follow throughout Africa. For more information visit our malaria webpage.
What are United Methodists doing in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic?
The United Methodist Church has been responding to the HIV/AIDS crisis since the early 1980s. Today we live in a world in which five people die of AIDS every minute and nine people more are infected by HIV. The General Board of Global Ministries has responded to the HIV/AIDS crisis through programs of awareness, care, and support. Visit our HIV/AIDS webpage for more information.
